The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit is the primary waterborne law enforcement agency in Bradley County.The Sheriff’s Office uses their marine equipment to effectively patrol the area waterways whenever the season or activity allows.
The Marine Unit functions primarily to ensure the safety of area waterways.
Marine Patrol deputies enforce boating laws and conduct routine boat safety inspections. They respond to all emergency calls for service on the water, including vessel crashes and aircraft crashes. They also respond to reports of missing boaters and divers.
The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit also assists other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in keeping local waterways safe.

The County Clerk collects sales tax on boat transactions between individuals.
Boats are registered through the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency
