JAMES BRADFORD

Director James Bradford is a graduate of Cleveland High School and furthered his studies at Cleveland State Community College and Tennessee State University, where he attended on a full-athletic scholarship.

Bradford’s Law Enforcement career began in 2003 with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Deputy. After volunteering his services, he was hired full-time and began working in the Patrol Division. He was then transferred to the Judicial Services Division where he held the positions of Field Training Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. During his tenure in Judicial Services, he was part of the Fugitive Division that worked closely with the United States Marshal’s Office in operations such as “Operation Falcon” that focused on arresting fugitives that were considered violent offenders.

Director Bradford is a graduate from Cleveland State Basic Law Enforcement Academy, and has attended many specialized schools such as: Basic and Advanced Supervisory Courses, Tennessee Law Enforcement Civil Process Training, and Officer’s Safety / High Risk Event Planning System. He is an alumni of University of Tennessee at Knoxville’s Southeastern Leadership Academy.

In the past 13 years, Bradford was awarded “Employee of the Year” and “Supervisor of the Year”. He was presented the “Meritorious Service Medal” for executing a high number of arrest warrants, and is a recipient of the “Public Service Award” for his role in outreach programs in the community.

Additionally, Director Bradford has the responsibility for educating churches in the community who are interested in developing or enhancing a safety team for their facility. Since 2015, he has organized seminars that brought churches together in order to provide them with information to become pro-active about church violence.

James is married to Kimberly Bradford and is a proud father of four children, three daughters and one son. He is also a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and attends North Cleveland Church of God and Omega Center International.
